IMPORTANT:
NOTICE OF UPCOMING CLOSURE OF MAIN ROAD BETWEEN SCHOOL AND BAY ROADS
FROM 11 AUGUST 2014 to 22 AUGUST 2014
Please note that the section of Main Road in Muizenberg between School and Bay Roads will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from 09h00 on Monday, 11 August 2014 until 17h00 on Friday 22 August 2014 to allow major road construction works. Due to the proximity of the building support columns in this section between Bay Road and School Road, it would be potentially unsafe to accommodate one-way traffic while maintaining support to the adjacent building structures. As such, it will be necessary to close the Main Road temporarily during construction in this section.
Signage and variable messaging boards will divert traffic via Boyes Drive. Signage will be in place at the intersections of Clairvaux and Main Roads and at Old Boyes Drive and Main Road. Pedestrian access to Muizenberg Station and St James will be maintained.
Vehicular access to Kalk Bay and St James will be available from the south via Boyes Drive, Clairvaux and Main Roads.
